A 2019 research revealed that two-thirds of New Zealanders are playing video games, and nine of 10 households have video game devices. The average age of gamers in the country is 34, and around 50% of these gamers are women.

Forty-two per cent of those aged 65 and above are still playing video games and calling themselves gamers. According to studies, adults who are playing video games are happier and more relaxed. So, don’t be surprised if you see more adults than kids playing in a video arcade in New Zealand.
