Fort Aguada is one of the most prized Portuguese architecture in the country. The fort was primarily built to gain a defence line from the invading Dutch and Marathas. With the capacity to hold 79 cannons along with various other weapons, the fort was an important defence line. It also has an old lighthouse which is known to be the oldest one of its structures in India. The fort itself is located in between the sinquerim beach and Candolim beach.
