Do Eyebrow Serums Really Work?

We commend you if you were one of the few people who never over-plucked their brows, as over-plucking eyebrows is among the most prevalent beauty faux pas that virtually everyone has made at some time in their lives. And if you’ve ever attempted to recover from an over-plucking catastrophe (or just have extremely thin brows/are suffering eyebrow hair loss), you know how difficult it is to get them to grow back — it doesn’t occur quickly and the hairs frequently end up thin and uneven. One of the selected sites in eyelash serum products

What’s the good news? Brow-enhancing cosmetics products and semi-permanent procedures like microblading, eyebrow feathering, and henna tattooing are all options for creating the impression of fuller, thicker brows. What if they are not your favorite?  Have you tried brow serums yet? Eyebrow serums have been all over the place recently, and they’ve been marketed as a simple way to encourage brow regrowth. Do you have any doubts about whether eyebrow growth serums really work? We talked to several beauty experts to see if they were worth a shot.

What are eyebrow serums?

Eyebrow serums are applied to the brow bone using a wand and subsequently absorbed into the hair follicles. After being absorbed, the chemicals in eyebrow serums assist to thicken existing brow hairs and encourage growth in sparse regions.

Doesn’t it sound great? But, before you run out and buy one, keep in mind that, like lash serums, brow serums come in two varieties: prescription and over-the-counter. Prescription brow serums, according to dermatologists, include active components that influence the brow hair’s development cycle and result in new growth. The only chemical that has been scientifically shown to increase lashes and brows is bimatoprost, but it is only available by prescription.

While these types of eyebrow growth products are generally only available through a licensed medical practitioner, there are some excellent over-the-counter eyebrow growth serums that contain essential oils (such as argan and castor oil), hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E to help strengthen and condition your brows. Biotin and panthenol are vitamins that assist to strengthen the hair, while antioxidants aid to encourage hair development.

How long does it take to notice results?

Don’t expect quick effects from brow serums; they need time to perform their magic. “You have to give it time,” King (a dermatologist) advises. “The average wait time is eight to twelve weeks. The key to success (much like going to the gym!) is consistency. The growth cycle will return to normal after you stop.”

When compared to scalp and body hair, brow regeneration is the slowest on the body. After plucking as a teenager, eyebrows take around 65 days to regenerate, and after the age of 42, the more we wax, thread, or pluck the hairs, the sparser they get.

Depending on the product, daily application is recommended throughout this period and every third day beyond the initial eight weeks for maintenance. Because goods differ, it’s important to follow the directions that came with the product you bought.

Potential Side Effects of Eyebrow Serums

It’s vital to remember that your face and eye region are very delicate, so do your homework to ensure that you not only select a product that delivers excellent results, but one that is safe to use as well.

They can have a variety of negative consequences, including:

Itchy eyes, redness, eyelid discoloration, and drooping eyelids are all signs of a permanent change in iris color.

These negative effects have been strongly related to products containing prostaglandins, emphasising the need of thoroughly studying product components before to use and discontinuing usage promptly if any side effects arise.

Avoid eyebrow growth enhancers that include isopropyl cloprostenate, which can cause significant responses and adverse effects, according to experts. Eyelash and eyebrow serums, like anything else, must be applied appropriately. The serum must be administered to the root of the hair because it is dead, so make sure you don’t get any in your eyes.
