Guide For “Blue-Eyed Babes” Of The Cat Breed

It’s not uncommon for a kitten to be born with beautiful blue eyes, but these give way to a standard greenish-gold color typical for a majority of cats. The deep blue hue is unusual in adult breeds, but there are a few that retain the shade and even some that pair it with an elegant snow-white coat.

The feature is not a dominant trait in either males or females. It can show up in either gender equally, or you can see the striking feature in several different breeds. For photographs of these magnificent stunners, you can go online, where you’ll find an extensive listing of all the various types. Some of these you’re probably familiar with, some likely not.

Where’d You Got Those Eyes?

There is just something mesmerizing about a cat’s eyes, regardless of color. They’re massive and just mesmerizing.

Still, when you look into a set of brilliant, blue peepers on anyone, it’s difficult to turn away.

Put those on a cat, especially one with other remarkable features like white fur or pointed markings, and you’re captivated. Look here for beautiful white breeds.

Some of the different types you’ll see here will take your breath. You’ll need to check these out with the guide.

  • The Balinese: The Balinese share features with the Siamese except for this breed’s long, luscious locks of fur. The graceful moves of the Bali dancers were the inspiration for the name of this equally elegant and lean-bodied feline, complete with a full tail and sapphire eyes.

The cat is one of high intelligence, offering an incredible personality but is very chatty like her Siamese cousin.

  • The Himalayan: This young lady is a Persian variety developed by blending the colored Siamese patterns with the fortune of a full Persian coat. The beautiful deep blue eyes set the tone for this fluffy feline.

She carries a most pleasant personality, showing just the right amount of affection but not becoming demanding nor high-strung, making her the perfect pet for a first-time pet parent or a senior.

  • The Siamese: The cat infamous for the show-stopping irises, the Siamese is an exceptionally smart cat with a natural curiosity. She loves to hear her voice, talking quite a bit to her pet parent because she is very social, deemed as a “person’s cat.”

These felines not only speak in a booming voice, but they use their bodies to emphasize their point. A second unusual characteristic of the cat is the triangular shape of her head with large, pointed ears and the pattern of her coloring, almost like she’s wearing a mask.

  • The Snowshoe: The Snowshoe is among the rare breeds offering point markings with vibrant colorings and is a brilliant blue-eyed purebred. The animal is another chatterbox that is exceptionally social, showing complete devotion to her pet parents.

The feline boasts as the optimum companion making an ideal first pet because she’s easily trainable with her vast intelligence and desire to please. This cat would prove a good family option for those with children and possibly other pets and wouldn’t be intimidated by visitors.

In many cases, people who adopt cats tend to take in multiples. The animals on this list are all extremely social, enjoying chattering with their parents. It might be wise if you decide on one of these breeds to select two so that they can have conversations among themselves. For those in search of a single color like the all-white beauties check these out.

Another thing to keep in mind, particularly if you are someone who prefers quiet, as these would not be a good fit for you. These felines will be noisy, especially Siamese and likely the Balinese.

It’s just not in their nature to sit quietly and sleep all the time. The cats here are the wrong breeds for someone looking for that personality. A blue-eyed baby might not be in the cards for you. You should in no way get an animal that doesn’t meet your comfort level simply because of the way she looks.

The genuinely sad thing with rescuing and adopting from a shelter (for the animal) is taking them back when you decide you got the wrong one. Try to make a point of not doing that.
